Aid Stations
Three stations besides the Start/Finish, all reasonably spaced around the lake so you won’t have to camel up unreasonably. Weather-dependent, you may need only one water bottle between stations. Whether you bring knife & spork for consumption of solids will be your decision. Different from 2010, each station will be staffed (one wasn’t last year) and each will have comparably stocked victuals (last year, one water only stop, one limited in victuals). Once Station owners get their respective focus for station personality, we’ll publish both general (and perhaps specific) menu items you can expect to find out there. Certainly no later than a month before the event, the best definition of what to expect will appear here. Of course, we’ll have surprises, too…
Medical supplies will be minimal, targeting those minor owies that visually aggravate progress but otherwise don’t demand major physical reconstruction – if it’s stitches you need, you’ll depart the Park; if you need a towel because you swam in the swamp, we’ll at least try to park your body someplace dry and uncold. You know how your own body responds to distance running, so bring your own self-care salves/supplies to use as you pass the S/F area each loop. We’ll lend an empathetic ear and caustic wit as you heal yourself. And mosquitoes? Uh, DUH!! Unless it snows or is torrential downpour for the whole weekend, expect that those nasty buggers will attempt to drain your blood or otherwise detract you from your game. Dress and medicate appropriately…
